Job Description Summary

 

We are seeking a highly-skilled Data Warehouse Engineer to implement, support and maintain Financial Data Warehousing solutions. We work with many clients across various sectors from banking, MFIs, Telecom to retail and ISP companies.
You will develop bespoke SQL based solutions; produce technical documentation on release and deployment, perform peer reviews and seek continuous improvement.

The ideal candidate will be autonomous, creative and self-motivated to deliver excellence in their work. You will join a team that is passionate about teamwork and supporting one another under the spirit of Ubuntu philosophy. The candidate will implement, ideate, structure solutions based on the needs of the projects.

Responsibilities

 

  • Create and maintain optimal data pipeline architecture,

  • Assemble large, complex data sets that meet functional / non-functional business requirements.

  • Identify, design, and implement internal (or client projects) process improvements: automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability, etc.

  • Build the infrastructure required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources.

  • Build analytics tools that utilize the data pipeline to provide actionable insights into key business performance metrics.

  • Collaborate with Stakeholders – Translating business requirements into data solutions for implementation

  • Demonstrate skills in database concepts, object and data modelling techniques and design principles

  • Create data tools for analytics and data scientist team members that assist them in building and optimizing our product into an innovative industry leader.


Skills and Qualifications

 

  • Strong experience with SQL Server, T-SQL and its satellite technologies (SSIS, SSRS, Power BI)

  • Strong Microsoft SQL Server experience including the ability to write readable & reusable stored procedures, model and create views, tables, and other necessary artifacts.

  • Strong SQL and T-SQL development and coding skills

  • Experience building and optimizing ETL processes and data pipelines using SSIS, Talend or other

  • Data manipulation and management skills along with a strong analytical sense

  • Experience as a Business Intelligence Analyst is a plus

  • Background in finance is preferred

  • Experience as a Data Warehouse Engineer is also a plus

  • Experience in troubleshooting and resolving end-to-end database integrity issues, performance issues, deadlocking issues

  • Understanding Data Architecture principles and Data Governance best practices.

  • Good communications skills in English

  • Excellent leadership and team management skills

  • Experience with version control with Git, Bitbucket and/or Team Foundation Server (TFS)

  • Familiar with Agile development methodologies

  • Can quickly adapt to changing requirements

  • Detail-oriented, curious and self-driven

  • Enthusiastic, positive, ambitious and a self-learner
